Example:1
Arun had twins and a very dutiful, elegant educated wife. She cared for all the family members and the social strata and was a pleasure all around.Very soon we heard that she was struck by an inevitable bug that slowly debilitated her and soon she became a story and a twinkling star in the sky.
The family was desolate and so was Arun.
The kids knew not what had hit them. An unsparing vacuum just enveloped all of them!!
Arun faced a lot of emotions:
SADNESS/Depression/ Disgust/Uncontrollable bouts of Crying/ Anger/ Frustration and total apathy with people and the surroundings.
But, being a staunch FAUJI, he took stock of self, kids, family and home.
Soon, at least outwardly , he carried a tough exterior and went about managing his adolescent twin boys, and some, how managed to carry on shouldering his responsibilities as a father , as a son, as a provider and care taker of hearth and home.
He surely must have experienced long spells of loneliness, and definitely a multitude of emotions!!
But, a die hard fauji that he was, he withstood all weathers: be it hail or rain, he smiled and swept along.
2nd Example::
My husband , during his Army career had to write a very important exam.He took 2 months annual leave and one month’s furlough( half pay leave), studied nights into days. He wrote the exam very confidently and expected a positive outcome.
He was shocked to see that while he had maxed four papers he lost in one paper by five marks only!!
In short: He was thus not eligible for the special course that year!!
It was a sure surprise and a hard shock- that he couldn’t accept!!
This rose to anger , frustration &
Depression !!!!!
One wondered if it could be attributed to “kismat” , because , in the following year -while he had hardly prepared well for the upcoming exam( caught between my illness and his sisters marriage)
He cleared all the papers in one GO!!
Surprise, Thrill, Excitement & Happiness were boundary less!!!!
Naturally ofcourse -he did join the DSSC course next year at Wellington.
Again a newer set of emotions!!!
Example3::::
A huge CEO of a big company was doing very well for himself for several years! Soon his wife (who was also an MBA ) decided to do something constructive with her life. She slowly but steadily worked the ropes and soon became a force to reckon with!!
Her name & fame grew, her affluence grew far and wide.
While they ( the couple)became the talk of the town, slowly the CEO drew inwards, got complexed by his wife’s popularity, and seething with rage, started getting into frequent arguments with her.
The scene at home was gloomy, the public image was being tarnished, and he did not know how to contain his EGO
Here again the Emotions that ranked high were:
Indignation, annoyance, pride, anger .
He could not come to terms with his wife’s success!!
He could not accept her gaining popularity!!!
Was this a case of INFLATED EGO!!
I’ve just narrated three examples .
The myriad of emotions that one faces in life wary from moment to moment, from incident to another, from one event to another.
A lot depends upon our reactions and responses!!
Some cardinal instances where Emotions are generally high strung -can be seen in some situations enlisted below:
1)Male dominance over females.
2)Position and Station in life .
3)Financial disparity with spouse/ siblings.
4)Greed to acquire more & more wealth.
5)Inability to meet up to expectations of elders .
6)Peer pressures.
7)Inability to reach own aspirations— Mounting frustration!!!
8)Kids not living up to your own expectations .
9)Disharmony between husband and wife.
10)Mounting MIL issues.
11)Not being able to meet the family financial obligations.
12)Accidental disasters – Accidents/ sudden bereavement of member esp earning member.
Above mentioned are some adverse situations that have come to the forefront of my
mind.
You will also have so many more that u may like to add!!
Such situations make a toss on your mind!!!!!
The man n his mind , on many an occasion is unable to cope with circumstances, and this leads to fluctuations of emotions!!
When emotions get the better of you, come what may, you are disparaged, and know not , how life would surface.
In one of my episodes on “ This is Life” I had tried to introduce the Emotions as a preliminary introduction!!
Now I want to speak/ write/ talk about Emotions in a little more detail.

I was, myself going through the previous article and although I only, have compiled it, I found it an interesting read. I want you all to go through it once again , before I embark on the Journey of Emotions and how they affect us!!

Hey- Look –
What is this?
These are colourful balloons with some intriguing and interesting captions::
Happy/Sad/Angry/Surprised/Scared/& Disgusted!!
Barring the first one- “HAPPY” all others are either Negative or Mixed Emotions!
Like it or not, moments of Happiness are far and in-between ; they have to be nurtured and moments of happiness have to be created by circumstances .
Effort thus has to be made continually to maintain their
state.
Mind u- this state doesn’t last long, but endeavours must go on!!>>>>

Negative/Mixed/ Positive
Is yet another basic classification . Please do check it also out on my Episode of Emotions!!

I began this topic because I see no end to the delimmas that are being faced by every one.
No one seems happy.
No one seems satisfied,
No one seems to be at peace with himself/ own self.
So many permutations and combinations: the life is fraught with tensions.
Man in his inability to contain himself, man in his inability to balance out himself, lets the emotions get the better of him.
The Raudra roop, the Ahankaar roop, the anger , the spouting of venom filled vocabulary, at times get the better of him, and he loses his emotional equilibrium.
Now that we have come to an understanding that emotions play a pivotal role in our life, let’s discern that they do form the basis that will eventually decide how we will react or respond to pressing situations.
Many a times, we are so prepossessed by a set of emotions that rationale thinking just doesn’t work!!
The tempers on many an occasion become so volatile that we keep uttering baseless, unpleasant , uncouth , discourteous blasphemies , that leave the atmosphere totally vitiated and unpleasant!!
How the complex emotions form a vicious circle and make an individual perform heinous tasks , the Emotions thus need to be handled with utmost care , and that can only come by practicing good habits ( but you must first believe in them).
This pray will never happen overnight.
Hard-work , diligence, patience ,
Power of listening, power to assimilating and analyzing situations with lots of resilience n fortitude will be required. It may take weeks/ months to reach a level where , if some thing untoward happens, you may just be able to control yourself and remain cool.

Zindagi

Zindagi ko kis rukh le jaa rahey hain!!!
